Botox

No other single product or treatment has revolutionised aesthetic cosmetic surgery as Botox has, it's easy application and quick results have brought cosmetic medicine into the main stream and made it the number 1 cosmetic procedure for both women and men.

What is Botox?

Botox is Botulinum type A; a natural protein chemically derived from bacteria. Botox acts by blocking acetylcholine, a chemical that causes muscle contraction. This results in the temporary blocking of the nerve impulses that contract the tiny muscles that are responsible for expression lines and wrinkles. The overall safety of Botox is well established having been approved by health authorities in 70 countries. Botox is also effective at preventing unsightly and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Botox is a very effective treatment, but it is important that it is administered by medical professionals that understand its potency and have in depth knowledge of the underlying muscle structure. Failure to appreciate these factors can cause the “frozen-face” syndrome associated with early uses of Botox. At Rogers Medical our principle doctors are all dermatologists having a complete understanding of skin and muscle structures, with years of experience of using Botox they pride themselves on delivering maximum and effective results from this procedure.

Botox

The procedure involves injecting Botox into the respective muscles in the treatment area using a tiny micro needle. This causes the muscles to relax softening the lines and contours. The procedure itself takes about 10 minutes depending on the areas to be treated. Results start to become noticeable in about 3 days, with the maximum effect visible about 10 days later, lasting for about 4 months. After several treatments the effects can tend to last longer.
